Watson Williams Black History Month Assembly 2026

Watson Williams Elementary closed out Black History Month in the best way through music and pride. Our students took the stage for a special assembly that featured a fashion show honoring legendary musical artists across generations.

From the timeless elegance of Billie Holiday, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder to the powerhouse talent of Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Brandy, our students proudly represented artists who have shaped music and history for decades.

The celebration didn't stop there! Students, teachers, staff and special guest vocalists from the community filled the room with unforgettable performances of songs from these iconic artists. Our school choir also delivered beautiful renditions of “Purple Rain” by Prince and “Stand Up” by Cynthia Erivo.

It was a powerful reminder of the impact and excellence of Black artists throughout history. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Black History Month committee members, volunteers and staff who worked so hard behind the scenes to make this celebration possible.

Happy Black History Month!
