This month the theme of gratitude was in the spotlight as the character trait to emulate at Albany Elementary School. Teachers spoke about the meaning of gratitude, and having a grateful heart while revisiting the theme of empathy. Gratitude means you are aware and thankful for good things that happen.
It's the quality of feeling and expressing thankfulness and appreciation. It's the belief that there is goodness in other people in the world and that we have received that goodness. Gratitude matters because out of all the 24 character traits it is the single best predictor of individual well-being. It is correlated with having more energy, empathy, happiness and optimism.
Students shared what they were grateful for at the assembly, giving examples like family, faith friends and teachers. Students were also recognized for perfect attendance for the month of November.
Congratulations to the students recognized this month, we are grateful for you!
